When planning on visiting the Royston Mine to search for turquoise, call ahead so you will know if they are going to be open for the public, hours, and the items you should bring with you to search for the turquoise, such as; rock hammer, sunscreen, hat (if you wear one) for the sun also, gloves that are strong but yet flexible enough for digging in stones and dirt, food and water (unless told otherwise when you call, there was no place to get something to eat or drink at the digging site, at the time this article was written, and you may also be advised of other items to bring, when you call the mine office at: 775-482-9889
